First Day of 2007

Kurban Bayram:
Upon arrival for the breakfast, everyone got in line, from oldest to youngest, in front of the 85 year old grandmother. Kissed her hand and touched in to our forehead.
The kids received money and presents.
At the breakfast I ate one piece of liver to be polite.
We then visited other houses, each time taking chocolate. Every house served a plate of food and gave the kids money.

New Year’s Eve:
Casual dining into the night.
Kids all stayed up with legos and hot wheels.
Kids decorated gingerbread cookies and I made a gingerbread house (this was new for Turks).
Big slumber party, and woke up to a warm day that melted most of the remaining snow.

Now what will 2007 bring?

Kloe,
It has been a delight to read your posts.
You are a great story teller-funny, entertaining, though provoking. The social and cultural observations and comments are very interesting, as well as the art discussions. And I love the photos, such a clever idea. Thank you!
I shared some of the post with Alex, my husband, and we both want to ask you how do you find the time to do everything. Alex is especially envious of your ability to fit in a 24hr day your job, two kids, a husband, cooking, not just dinner, but baking cookies, art making, traveling, reading the New Yorker and writing your blog. How do you do it?

Thanks!
Here's how I do it:
No car; no commuting
No netflix
Living at work
No family obligations
No house or yard
Few friends here, and they are very busy!
I miss you!
