Hillary

Hillary’s win in Nevada has caused me a strange excitement. Women stood up for her, even against union endorsement of Obama. When my friends in Europe or Turkey ask me who will win, I tell them Clinton. But now it’s really starting to seem true. I never thought I’d see a woman president in my lifetime. Now it’s probable, and she’s capable, smart and experienced. Finally anyone can become president—simply amazing for a country that has never elected anyone but a white Christian male.
It’s about time, that’s all I have to say.

I too, was excited after Hilary won New Hampshire and Nevada, which surprised me since I do not know who I am going to vote for yet. I try to tell myself that gender should not matter when deciding my vote, yet my excitement is palpable when I see her winning and aggressively fighting her attackers.

Exactly! It's almost like I forgot she was the first woman with a really good chance, and now all of a sudden it's hitting me in the gut.
Anyway, it's an amazing political season, don't you think?

i wouldn't count out obama just yet. on reps, it will be mccain not rudy. plus there is still the bloomberg factor. it's like how do we respond to 9/11? a slap on islamists by electing a woman, a jew, or we say we are not so different from you by electing someone whose last name rhymes with osama, middle name is hussein. very weird this election. i am almost expecting that wrestler dude announcing his plans for presidency at some point. it all started so damn early this year.

I'd be fine with Obama (Barack/Burak is a very common Turkish, and therefore Muslim I'm assuming, name); he's my generation and that would be amazing. We actually went to the same college one year, but I didn't know him.
I think the only one who could save the Republicans is Arnie Baby, but he can't run...

I've noticed you like Mr Caleeforneeah the Governator. I think he is a good governor personally, although I am in minority in the circles I travel for some odd reason. Yea he could do lots for Reps. My personal preference is Ron Paul but I know he is not electable. Aaaarrrggghh (Arnold).

And I am from Turkey, Burak is very common here yes. It is muslim name (the horse that Mohammed rode when he was called up to heavens), but Jews have a version of the name too as in Ehud Barak the once prime minister of Israel.
